Need Infotech ("we", "us", "our") respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal data we collect, why, the lawful bases we rely on, and the rights you have — including under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the UK GDPR, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA) and the Australian Privacy Act 1988.
Who we are (data controller)

Information we collect
- Details you give us — name, email, phone, company and message via our contact and audit forms.
- Tool inputs — the website URLs and email you submit to free tools such as the Core Web Vitals Audit and Knowledge Graph Checker.
- Technical data — IP address and server logs, collected to keep the site secure and diagnose faults.
- Essential cookie — a first-party session cookie required for the site and forms to work (see Cookies below).
We do not currently run third-party analytics, advertising or tracking cookies. If we add any, they will be listed here and loaded only after you consent.
Lawful bases (GDPR Article 6)
- Legitimate interests — responding to your enquiries, delivering the free tools you request, and protecting the site from abuse.
- Consent — sending you marketing updates, and setting any non-essential cookies. You can withdraw consent at any time.
- Contract — where we are delivering a paid engagement to you.
How we use your information
To respond to enquiries, deliver our services and requested tool reports, keep the site secure, and — only where you have opted in — send relevant updates. We never sell your personal information.
International data transfers
We process personal data in India, which is a "third country" under the EU and UK GDPR. Where we handle personal data of individuals in the EU, UK, EEA or Australia, we rely on appropriate safeguards — the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) (and the UK International Data Transfer Addendum) — to ensure your data receives an equivalent level of protection. A copy of the safeguards is available on request.
Cookies
We currently set only one cookie: an essential first-party session cookie used to operate the site and protect forms (for example, the anti-spam check). Essential cookies are exempt from consent under the ePrivacy Directive. Should we ever add analytics or marketing cookies, our consent banner will let you accept or reject them before they load, and they will be listed in this section.
Data retention
- Enquiries & leads — up to 24 months from last contact, then deleted or anonymised.
- Free tool submissions — audit records and their inputs are retained up to 12 months.
- Server logs — typically up to 90 days.
- Client records — for the duration of the engagement plus any period required by law (e.g. tax and accounting).
Your rights
Subject to your jurisdiction, you have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict or object to the processing of your personal data, to data portability, and to withdraw consent. To exercise any right, email info@needinfotech.com. We respond within the timeframes required by applicable law.
Regional notices
EU / EEA (GDPR). You may lodge a complaint with your local data protection supervisory authority.
United Kingdom (UK GDPR). You may complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.
California (CCPA/CPRA). California residents have the right to know, delete and correct their personal information, and to opt out of "sale" or "sharing" — note that we do not sell or share personal information. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.
Australia (Privacy Act 1988). We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) and you may complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC).
